Check whether the outcome improved
Check the expected action
Open a notification in its intended state and confirm label, destination, resource, and resulting state match. Record the expected outcome before tapping. A detail page is not proof that a task action completed.
Check changed context
Repeat after state or role changes and verify action visibility, stale fallback, permission response, and return context. Ensure a person gets a useful explanation when the original action is no longer available.
Review copy and recovery
Inspect previews, narrow layout, focus, back navigation, and no-action state. State tested events and roles in the closure. Leave a partial pass when external notification action behavior or platform controls remain unobserved. Record whether returning to the resource completed the intended handoff.
What to carry forward
Verification passes when labels predict outcomes, destinations retain resource context, and changed states offer honest recovery. If a role or platform path is missing, name the untested boundary. A button that opens the app without preserving the event is not an action-context pass.
