Verify separation between test and live webhooks

Verification should prove that environment configuration, endpoint, verification context, and resource identity agree. Exercise matching test and live paths, crossed endpoints, missing markers, rejected credentials, and a retry. Inspect route and effect, not only response status. Use a known receiver revision.

Check whether the outcome improved

  1. Define environment outcomes

Write expected environment, endpoint, verification result, response, resource, and effect for matching, crossed, missing-marker, rejected, and retried events. State how an environment-ambiguous delivery is held or reviewed for each endpoint.

  2. Exercise crossed paths

Run synthetic fixtures through each endpoint and compare configured environment, observed route, safe event identity, resource marker, and disposition. Confirm a test event cannot silently alter a live resource and a live event is not accepted as test work.

  3. Check retries and labels

Repeat a rejected or ambiguous event through the approved path. Verify identity and disposition remain stable, labels are visible to a reviewer, and no replay crosses environments. Record any trusted source information the fixture cannot supply.

What to carry forward

Accept when matching paths stay functional, crossed or unknown paths stop safely, and retries preserve environment and effect boundaries. Keep verification open for unobservable event origin. Record fixtures, endpoints, receiver revision, resource outcomes, and residual uncertainty.
