Build a useful investigation brief
Build the closure timeline
Map each implementation, verification, status change, report, and reopen event with release and scope context. Identify which closure claim the new event challenges and which events are merely related activity.
Replay the outcome
Run the original acceptance path and the reopened path under comparable conditions. Vary only the reported difference, such as role, data, timing, or version, and record success and failure boundaries.
Write the recurrence brief
State whether the same outcome remains, a regression occurred, a new scope appeared, or closure communication failed. Link evidence, rank hypotheses, and recommend one bounded next action with a revised closure condition.
What to carry forward
A useful brief explains the relation between closure and reopen evidence and identifies the smallest condition still failing or unknown. Stop when the cycle is classified; keep separate scopes separate so recurrence does not conceal a new problem. Keep a changing scope separate from an incomplete repair in the resulting work plan.
Keep the decision with the work.
Use a Work Item in Aglet to record the problem, the evidence you have, and the next decision. Add an owner and priority, then keep updates in the discussion so the next person can follow the reasoning.
