Establish what is happening
Name the ranking rule
Write the measure, direction, category grain, N, tie handling, null policy, and filter scope. Define whether ranking happens before or after a period or segment filter. Keep the full category set and expected top members beside the chart configuration.
Trace the Other bucket
Follow categories through filtering, aggregation, ranking, tie resolution, grouping, color assignment, total calculation, and export. Compare members and values in the Other bucket with the full population. Mark the first stage that drops a category or makes totals stop reconciling.
Bound affected surfaces
List charts, tables, cards, legends, exports, and comparisons using top-N logic. Separate intentional truncation from an unlabelled aggregate. Ask the report owner to resolve whether ties expand the set, share a rank, or enter Other.
What to carry forward
Triage is complete when ranking measure, N, tie rule, Other membership, first divergence, affected surfaces, and owners are explicit. Keep the finding provisional when the report shows an Other bucket without revealing its membership or calculation.

Keep the decision with the work.
Use a Work Item in Aglet to record the problem, the evidence you have, and the next decision. Add an owner and priority, then keep updates in the discussion so the next person can follow the reasoning.
