Verification should replay the original narrow state and then stress content that exposed the overflow. Confirm users can read identity, move through controls, submit, and recover without relying on accidental horizontal movement.

Check whether the outcome improved

  1. Replay the original viewport

    Use the original width, height, zoom, browser, page state, content, and interaction sequence. Confirm the overflow boundary no longer hides the required task or essential record context.

  2. Stress realistic content

    Exercise long names, descriptions, labels, errors, tables, empty states, and active navigation. Check wrapping, clipping, scroll affordance, focus visibility, and control order.

  3. Review the ordinary path

    Complete the workflow at a standard viewport and an enlarged text or zoom setting where relevant. Apply the layout checkpoint and keep results partial if any affected state remains untested.

What to carry forward

Verification should state reflowed, intentionally scrollable, still overflowing, or inconclusive, with viewport and content evidence. Close only when the primary task and essential context remain usable across the reviewed widths. Replay the affected width with long labels and errors, then complete the task at standard and enlarged zoom; confirm any intentional scrolling is visible and operable. Leave any state that requires guesswork or hidden horizontal motion open for another correction.
