Define period assertions
Write expected fiscal year, quarter, month, week, start, end, label, and included records for each boundary fixture. State stub and extra-week behavior or mark it unsupported. A pass requires the visible label and date range to describe the same period.
Exercise boundary controls
Run before-edge, edge, after-edge, closed, stub, and extra-week cases through cards, tables, charts, filters, comparisons, and exports. Compare membership and labels with the versioned calendar. Record any intentional difference between fiscal and ordinary calendar views.
Review period meaning
Ask a reviewer to explain which dates belong to the selected fiscal period and what comparison basis the report uses. Preserve source revision, dictionary revision, filter state, and evidence. Record a bounded result when a surface omits the period definition but returns correct membership.
What to carry forward
Verification passes when boundary dates, fiscal labels, included rows, and comparisons agree with the approved dictionary. Report a bounded pass for unsupported period shapes. Keep verification inconclusive when a familiar label masks a different date range or the export drops its fiscal basis.
