Decide where the work belongs
Rank downstream consequence
List imports, reconciliations, reports, audits, and decisions that use the export. Record missing identifiers, changed values, altered totals, or timing effects for each consumer. A small discrepancy in a control file may outrank a larger presentation-only formatting difference.
Assess recurrence and scope
Compare affected export runs, source formats, selected fields, filters, and generation times. Classify work as source snapshot alignment, selection correction, transformation fix, serialization review, or historical reconciliation. Prioritize forward protection when each new run carries the same discrepancy.
Choose a queue decision
Select investigate, correct the export contract, reconcile a named run, repair the consumer, or monitor. Include source and file identifiers, owner, comparison method, and escalation trigger. Do not broaden scope to every export when one field, filter, or generation boundary explains the evidence.
What to carry forward
Return a ranked export queue with affected decisions, discrepancy class, recurrence evidence, snapshot confidence, owner, and next action. The leading item should identify whether source alignment or file behavior comes first. Mark priority provisional when the export contract or source timing is not documented.
Keep the decision with the work.
Use a Work Item in Aglet to record the problem, the evidence you have, and the next decision. Add an owner and priority, then keep updates in the discussion so the next person can follow the reasoning.
