Verify Discovery Readiness for the Next Phase

Verification gives a decision room to be uncertain without becoming vague. Review the evidence against the actual next-phase choice, inspect missing groups and constraints, and record what remains open. A verified decision is bounded, traceable, and explicit about its stopping condition for the next phase and review.

Check whether the outcome improved

  1. Set readiness checks

    Require a named decision, user outcome, research questions, evidence links, critical unknowns, affected contexts, constraints, and next-step owner. Add a check that the next step is reversible where evidence remains incomplete.

  2. Review the decision record

    Compare findings with successful, failed, assisted, and edge contexts. Inspect contradictions and untested assumptions. Ask whether a different user outcome or constraint would change the recommendation and record the answer.

  3. Approve the boundary

    Choose advance, narrow, research again, or pause. State what the evidence confirms and what it cannot establish about adoption, feasibility, or long-term value. Set a trigger for revisiting readiness when scope or context changes.

What to carry forward

The verification record should show readiness checks, evidence coverage, critical unknowns, constraints, and next-step reversibility. Approve only the decision the record supports. Keep another research round when a missing context could change the outcome or scope later in planning.
