Verify progress or containment after a stalled rollout

Verification must answer the uncertainty that made the rollout concerning. Recheck status transitions and actual version exposure, then compare them with the expected milestone. Avoid marking progress from a single new timestamp without confirming the affected path.

Check whether the outcome improved

  1. Capture fresh state

Record the latest deployment status, transition time, exposure marker, environment, and immutable release identity. Compare it with the stalled snapshot and note whether the evidence source or identifier changed.

  2. Confirm served behavior

Check runtime version, representative request or job outcomes, and relevant health measures for the affected environment. A status change without corresponding behavior may indicate reporting progress only.

  3. Apply the checkpoint

Use the triage rule to classify resumed progress, safe containment, or unresolved state. Name the next review if the rollout is still pending, and keep exposure uncertainty visible until independently bounded.

What to carry forward

Verification should state resumed, contained, failed, or inconclusive, with the state and runtime observations that support it. Close the investigation only when the original exposure question is answered and a stale status cannot conceal a second boundary. Check the same environment and customer path after the checkpoint, then compare the served identifier with the status record; both must agree before the stalled item can close.

Keep the decision with the work.

Use a Work Item in Aglet to record the problem, the evidence you have, and the next decision. Add an owner and priority, then keep updates in the discussion so the next person can follow the reasoning.
