Prioritize quiet-hours expectations with a timing boundary

Timing work matters when a person waits for an update without knowing it is deferred or misses a decision because the event is not visible elsewhere. Compare urgent and informational cases. A clear status and review path may be safer than bypassing quiet hours for more events.

Decide where the work belongs

  1. Name the waiting cost

Describe what a person cannot decide during the quiet window and whether the event remains reviewable. Compare a time-sensitive workflow with a routine update, and keep platform summary delay separate from an app setting.

  2. Compare timing remedies

Set clearer copy, time-zone display, in-app history, urgency classification, digest timing, and immediate delivery beside one another. Consider user control and alert fatigue. Prefer a remedy that clarifies state before changing interruption behavior.

  3. Choose a bounded move

Record the event class, channel, owner, and revisit time. Decide whether to improve status, timing settings, or urgency mapping. Preserve the delayed event and normal-hours control so the queue decision remains grounded.

What to carry forward

Prioritize timing work where a delayed alert hides a consequential decision or the product cannot explain event availability. The decision should name event class and remedy. If the event is visible in-app and clearly deferred, queue copy or settings clarity instead of bypassing user control.

Keep the decision with the work.

Use a Work Item in Aglet to record the problem, the evidence you have, and the next decision. Add an owner and priority, then keep updates in the discussion so the next person can follow the reasoning.
