Check whether the outcome improved
Audit scope continuity
Compare the linked items or sections with the original outcome map and confirm every requested result, evidence reference, dependency, and exclusion remains visible. Check that private context is represented safely.
Exercise independent next steps
Have each owner perform the next meaningful action and record blockers, shared inputs, and acceptance results. Verify that a completed child does not incorrectly close a still-open related outcome. Run each owner’s next action so an apparently complete child cannot hide a blocked sibling.
Review coordination state
Check parent and child statuses, milestone or sequence links, review ownership, and revisit triggers. If the split introduced an untracked dependency or lost context, restore the link before closure. Check that parent progress does not imply acceptance for an unfinished outcome.
What to carry forward
Verification passes when every outcome remains represented, owners can act independently where intended, dependencies are explicit, and status reflects actual progress. If a split loses shared rationale or acceptance, keep the relationship visible and repair the boundary.
Keep the decision with the work.
Use a Work Item in Aglet to record the problem, the evidence you have, and the next decision. Add an owner and priority, then keep updates in the discussion so the next person can follow the reasoning.
