Check whether the outcome improved
Check plan completeness
Assert the plan names changed behavior, preserved behavior, in-scope cases, exclusions, expected results, evidence artifacts, source or revision, reviewer, blocking failures, and stopping condition. Mark generic entries such as test it or looks correct as incomplete.
Exercise a boundary
Run or review one representative normal case, one boundary case, and one failure case against the plan. Compare observed and expected results, then verify the plan tells the reviewer what to do with each outcome. Record any criterion that cannot be evaluated.
Check handoff closure
Confirm the result records checks performed, evidence location, coverage limits, failures, unresolved questions, and acceptance decision. Verify scope changes update the plan. Retain the reviewed task, example outputs, and exact plan revision for later readers.
What to carry forward
Accept the plan when outcomes and unchanged boundaries are observable, representative and failure cases are covered, evidence and reviewer are named, and closure records limits. Keep verification open for generic criteria, unowned checks, or results without evidence. Report the task slice and cases reviewed.
