Check whether the outcome improved
Check claim coverage
Map each material conclusion to one or more named artifacts and mark direct, derived, or interpretive support. Require an explicit unresolved label for unsupported claims. Confirm the evidence actually bears on the claim rather than merely sharing its topic or time window.
Reproduce key comparisons
Re-run the smallest query, calculation, fixture, or record comparison needed to check the highest-impact claim. Compare identifiers, filters, revisions, and timestamps with the handoff. Record any difference and whether it changes the recommendation or only its wording.
Review freshness and limits
Confirm source timing, scope, missing periods, excluded records, and transformation assumptions are visible. Test how a stale or absent artifact would affect the conclusion. Retain the reviewed evidence index, comparison output, and exact handoff revision for later readers.
What to carry forward
Accept the handoff when material claims trace to reviewable evidence, key comparisons reproduce, timing and exclusions are visible, and uncertainty changes the wording appropriately. Keep verification open for untraceable or stale support. State which claims and source windows were covered rather than implying total proof.
Keep the decision with the work.
Use a Work Item in Aglet to record the problem, the evidence you have, and the next decision. Add an owner and priority, then keep updates in the discussion so the next person can follow the reasoning.
