Check whether the outcome improved
Test direct entry
Open a URL carrying query, facets, sort, page, and category context. Confirm controls and results match the encoded state. Change one filter and verify the URL updates without retaining a stale value from the previous search.
Test the journey
Page, sort, open a result, return, and use browser back. Compare filters, result set, page, and labels after each transition. Repeat at a narrow width where controls may collapse. Record an intentional reset as a named outcome.
Check shareability
Copy the filtered URL into a fresh session and inspect the initial view. Ensure unavailable or invalid values are handled honestly and that the closure record names omitted browser history or device cases. Leave one failing transition open if its contract is unresolved.
What to carry forward
Verification passes when direct links and in-scope transitions preserve the defined filters, while deliberate resets are understandable. If a device or route family is untested, state that boundary. Do not close on matching controls alone if the returned result set changed.
