Verify decisions made from conflicting customer feedback

Verification of a conflict decision must test both the selected outcome and the burden placed on the other segment. Check behavior under the contexts that created the disagreement, then confirm the record communicates the boundary. Success is informed tradeoff, not universal agreement.

Check whether the outcome improved

  1. Test each segment path

Run the acceptance checks with representative roles, data, and workflow conditions for both sides. Confirm the selected path produces its intended outcome and that the alternate segment receives the documented fallback, explanation, or configuration where promised.

  2. Check the tradeoff surface

Review defaults, labels, permissions, export behavior, and support guidance for places where the choice may surprise users. Confirm the decision record names what remains unsupported and links to the evidence that justified the tradeoff.

  3. Review the revisit trigger

Exercise the metric or observation that should reopen the decision, such as a new severe blocker in the deferred segment. Ensure the trigger has an owner and date, and that verification results distinguish missing evidence from a failed product outcome.

What to carry forward

Verification passes when both segment scenarios are tested, the chosen outcome is observable, the opposing burden is explicit, and a revisit trigger is recorded. If one segment cannot be exercised, keep the decision provisional and state exactly which behavior remains unverified.

Keep the decision with the work.

Use a Work Item in Aglet to record the problem, the evidence you have, and the next decision. Add an owner and priority, then keep updates in the discussion so the next person can follow the reasoning.
