Investigate availability filter confidence from index to result

An investigation should find where the availability promise diverges from the evidence available to search. Compare source state, indexed state, filter result, and next action for representative products. Vary location or variant only when that condition could change the promise.

Build a useful investigation brief

  1. Build the availability matrix

    Choose parent, sellable, unavailable, and location-sensitive examples. Record source state, index timestamp, filter response, displayed label, variant choice, and next action. Preserve a fresh control and a deliberately older sample so age is not assumed.

  2. Trace the first mismatch

    Compare inventory source, indexing, facet or filter logic, grouping, and destination behavior. Change one location or variant condition at a time. Record when search remains internally consistent but cannot support a real-world availability conclusion.

  3. Write the confidence brief

    State the supported definition, first divergence, freshness limit, and competing explanations. Recommend a bounded data or copy experiment with a pass condition. Keep fulfillment behavior separate from search evidence when the latter cannot verify it.

What to carry forward

The investigation is complete when representative availability states can be followed from source to filter to next action, or the first unknown boundary is explicit. Stop with one bounded experiment. Do not convert an index flag into a real-time promise without evidence.
